Talon Virtual Pulse Analyzer is a software-based radar pulse analysis suite designed to enable portable, in-depth analysis and collection of live "streaming" Pulse Descriptor Word (PDW) data or previously collected, saved PDW data. All that is required is a PC or laptop running Talon for offline analysis of PDW data sets. By adding a TCP/IP connection to an appropriate receiver hardware subsystem, such as the EAGLE, the operator will also have the ability to tune to and collect live PDW data.

Furthermore, Talon can be used to analyze PDW data sets with associated digitized pulse sample data. The pulse sample data is automatically demodulated to show profiles of Amplitude/Frequency/Phase Modulation on Pulse (A/F/PMOP). Currently, Talon operates natively with Telemus EAGLE ELINT receiver and CORVUS ELINT Pulse Analyzer platforms, but it can be extended to operate with a variety of radar pulse data sources. Examples include interoperability with VIEWS simulation software by DRS, which is capable of generating complex high-fidelity virtual PDW data streams.

Talon is designed using open standard XML data files, as well as an XML-based messaging format for communication over a socketed TCP/IP connection. This ensures maximum interoperability and allows data compatibility into newer versions of the product and operating systems. Talon is a powerful ELINT tool that can be taken anywhere and used to augment any ELINT platform.
