Eric C. Oppenheim, JD

Eric (“Rick”) Oppenheim is Deputy General Counsel and Deputy Compliance Officer of Kovitz Investment Group Partners, LLC. He works collaboratively with his colleagues to address legal and regulatory compliance matters for the firm’s investment management, wealth advisory, family office services and insurance businesses. Prior to joining Telemus Capital, Rick was with TIAA-CREF where he headed the Asset Management and Trust Compliance Group and was later appointed Acting Chief Compliance Officer of TIAA-CREF’s mutual fund complex. Previously, he was with Comerica Incorporated, a major regional financial services company, for over 22 years where Rick managed the regulatory compliance programs for Comerica’s trust and wealth management, investment advisory, mutual fund, broker-dealer and insurance businesses. He also has been a consultant on regulatory matters for a major national insurance and financial services company. Rick is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University Law School. He is Vice Chair of the Investment Adviser Association’s Smaller Advisers Committee.
